The idea of this blog is to help builders, architects, home owners and new buyers to understand 10 things that can really help in overall aesthetics when buying a modular kitchen and to keep in mind before it's installation.

1. Chimney Duct Pipe

Are you planning to install a chimney? You will need to check how your pipe will move out of the kitchen, often termed as chimney duct. If you have a false ceiling then you can move the duct into it and then take it out from the one end of the wall.

2. Dishwasher Space

Are you planing to install a dish washer? You will need to raise your kitchen counter to allow it to be above dishwasher space. Usually kitchen counter without dishwasher ends up at 32 inches from the floor level, however dishwasher such as Bosch 12 Place Settings Dishwasher (SMS66GI01I, Silver Inox) will require you to raise overall kitchen counter by at least 3 inches.

3. Civil Work

Civil work comprises of many things in your modular kitchen, from floor tiles, to wall tiles, windows, etc. all are part of civil work. Your modular kitchen supplier will not do these civil work and you will need to get in touch with your contractor or builder.

4. Lighting

All lights of kitchen, electrical sockets and points for microwave, fridge and other electrical appliances like grinders, toasters, dishwasher, crushers and RO Unit need to be pre-planned before installation of Modular Kitchen.

5. Gas Pipeline

Do you have gas cylinder or pipeline, both will have a installation consequences for your modular kitchen. E.g. gas cylinder will require a cabinet inside modular kitchen dedicated for it. Gas pipeline will have a gas meter that needs to be put in visible area.
